Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:                                                                                                                                      

  • High school diploma
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 or other provincial equivalent driver’s license and access to own vehicle.

 

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a field role on civil, water and wastewater infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Ability to read and interpret Civil construction drawings and specifications.   
  • Ability to document inspection and prepare field reports.
  • AutoCAD and GIS software knowledge are an asset.
  • Strong MS Office computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent English communication and documentation skills—both written and verbal.

    • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
    • This position will be subject to passing a mandatory paid three-day NASSCO PACP, LACP and MACP course. This course covers an understanding of sewer, lateral and manhole coding of defects and features for condition assessment and is an essential client based requirement for this role.
    • Based on your experience, work may evolve to become a full-time role that may see you attend other site inspection sites or office-based work to support asset management and GIS reporting during off-season durations.

    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a Site Inspector to support the delivery of water and wastewater linear infrastructure projects within Winnipeg, Manitoba. In this role you will provide seasonal on-site inspection services (typically May to January) to ensure contractor sewer cleaning and inspection work is carried out in compliance to specification, traffic safety and environmental standards.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Conduct daily full time site inspection to verify Contractors work is in compliance with specifications, safety regulations and environmental protection requirements.
    • Work closely with the Project Contract Administrator and Project Manager, to ensure the sewer cleaning and inspection is following project specifications.
    • Document inspection progress, noting deficiencies and corrective actions; track and report resolutions, accessing and completing Weekly Reports and work within SharePoint sites to support the Contract.
    • Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
    • Liaise closely with contractors and report inspection findings to the Contract Administrator.
    • Attend periodic events that require night time site activities, as needed.
    • Support project close-out activities.
    • Maintain accurate inspection logs, QA/QC records and documentation.
    • Assist with preparation of GIS error correction and asset management reports.
