Job Description:

An opportunity for a PWP Stress Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join the PWP Mechanical Analysis Team. Our department is in charge of participating in the design of the ADS platform PWP through modeling, loads evaluation (static, fatigue, dynamic, thermal), and structure/system definition and validation. We develop static, thermal, and dynamic models of the PWP structure design to integrate engines across our different platforms. The team evaluates structural stresses derived from loads, supporting the design from the pre-design phase to in-service support, including main design reviews, certification, and prototype testing.

To perform these activities, our multidisciplinary team is permanently in contact with Flight Physics, Design, and System Integration departments, as well as each program's Chief Engineering office. The jobholder will reinforce our stress analysis area to support complex system implementation in these programs.

Responsibilities

The main tasks and deliverables of the jobholder will be:

  • Perform static, fatigue, and damage tolerance (F&DT) calculation and analysis within metallic, composite, and hybrid structures at the component level.

  • Develop structural stress evaluations and produce relevant strength margins or reserve factors according to validated and applicable Airbus methods and sizing processes.

  • Utilize standard F&DT tools and techniques to analyze damaged structures and provide stress analyses for the repair or acceptance of components.

  • Collaborate with Flight Physics, Design, and System Integration departments to ensure structural alignment from pre-design phases to in-service support.

  • Support the definition, implementation, and validation of the PWP structure design, participating actively in main design reviews and certification processes.

Skills

Is your profile aligned to the following list of skills? Apply! We are looking forward to knowing you:

  • Education: Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline.

  • Soft skills: High adaptability to work in a team and networking mode. Capacity to endorse responsibility and leadership.
