Main function and scope
We are looking for a Hardware Engineer with a good electronic background to design, validate, and qualify advanced electronic systems for aerospace and defense applications. The role covers the electronic board design, debugging, validation and qualification activities, including radiation testing campaigns. The successful candidate will be expected to understand hardware behaviour at component, board, and subsystem level, and investigate failures to improve design solutions.
Core functions
Design, develop, and maintain electronic boards and hardware subsystems for avionics equipment, and electronic systems.
Perform component selection, schematic design, analysis and support PCB layout activities.
Design hardware incorporating DC/DC converters, LDO regulators, analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuitry, including FPGA-, microcontroller-, ADC/DAC-, and communication interface-based systems.
Develop test strategies, test plans, procedures and verification campaigns
Develop, integrate, and maintain automated test systems using laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, and data acquisition systems.
Perform hardware debugging, electrical characterization, and functional verification activities.
Coordinate and execute radiation test campaigns (TID, SEE, SEL, SEU, SET, displacement damage) in collaboration with specialized external facilities.
Execute environmental qualification testing, including thermal, vibration, EMC/EMI, and reliability testing.
Analyze test results, perform root-cause investigations, and implement corrective or mitigation actions to improve design robustness and radiation tolerance.
Prepare technical documentation, test reports, verification evidence, qualification reports, and customer deliverables.
Collaborate closely with systems, hardware, firmware, software, quality, manufacturing, and project management teams.
Required experience and candidate profile
Degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline

EU work authorization required
Technical Requirements
Training / specific knowledge required in:
Professional experience in hardware design, electronic validation, or test engineering.
Hands-on experience designing and validating electronic boards and embedded hardware systems.
Experience developing test setups for integrated circuits, electronic assemblies, or avionics equipment.
Knowledge of communication interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, or other digital communication protocols.
Strong knowledge of electronic measurement techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
Experience with test automation using tools or languages such as Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar.
Ability to understand datasheets, interface control documents, requirements specifications, and technical standards.
Ability to produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
Ability to work in a regulated, high-reliability engineering environment.
Nice-to-have training / specific knowledge:
Experience performing radiation testing of electronic components, including TID, SEE, SEL, SEU, or displacement damage testing.
Knowledge of component qualification processes for space, aerospace, or defense applications.
Experience preparing radiation test plans, procedures, and qualification documentation.
Familiarity with ECSS, NASA, ESA, MIL-STD, or DO-254/DO-160 standards.
Experience with space-grade or high-reliability components, COTS component evaluation, or up-screening processes.
Knowledge of avionics communication interfaces such as SpaceWire, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429.
The position is located at our headquarters in Madrid, at Calle Serrano Galvache, 56.
