Join us as the Accounting and Tax Manager in Barcelona, where you'll lead a dynamic team to drive financial accuracy, ensure compliance, and shape the future of our accounting systems - making a real impact at the heart of our global finance operations. What you'll be doing: Act as a local product owner for to the new Accounting ERP Peoplesoft and supervise the system to ensure proper control flows to the accounting records. Prepare statutory reports, including monthly closings, annual accounts, and regulatory filings (e.g., Magnitude, BNB). Forecast and control technical margins, including premiums, commissions, reinsurance, and related items Manage treasury functions and cash pooling activities. Maintain relationships with external auditors and tax consultants. Prepare internal control reports, perform controls, and identify risks or issues proactively. Act as the finance key stakeholder to local and central projects, ensuring correct flow to accountancy and data quality. Oversee tax declarations and coordinate their integration with accounting, collaborating with AXA Seguros for corporate tax consolidation. Collaborate with other departments to ensure operational and client needs are accurately reflected in financial processes. Manage a team of 6 direct reports focusing on continuous process improvement and operational efficiency. What you'll bring: Accounting degree qualifications, especially insurance related accounting experience highly desirable. Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or treasury functions. Familiarity with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements. Previous experience in auditory (big four) or insurance company is desirable English Advanced and native Spanish. Advanced Excel skills Proven team management skills Familiarity in managing complex financial processes and a drive for simplification. Meticulous and detail-oriented Ability to identify risks, implement controls, and resolve issues proactively. High level of organization and time management to handle multiple priorities. Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance standards Ability to analyse financial data and generate accurate reports with a focus on data quality.
