Requisitos

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, OR
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (no minimum experience required)

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, including plastic molding, tooling, or mechanical production
  • Proficiency with quality management tools and methodologies: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA
  • Strong understanding of quality standards including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
  • Demonstrated expertise in 8D problem-solving methodology and root cause analysis
  • Supplier relationship management and quality improvement project leadership experience
  • Process audit experience and knowledge of audit protocols
  • Proficiency in cost analysis, quality claim management, and documentation
  • Fluent English (written and verbal)

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Purchasing Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Juárez, Mexico. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality standards for all purchased components while fostering strong partnerships with our supplier network. You will combine analytical expertise with innovative problem-solving to drive continuous improvement and support our organization's commitment to excellence.

  • Partner with the Purchasing department to identify, evaluate, and select potential suppliers that align with our quality and performance standards
  • Serve as a strong collaborative partner in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Preventive Quality Planning (PQP) initiatives to ensure project metrics are met and exceeded
  • Take ownership of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities for all purchased components, ensuring compliance and documentation accuracy
  • Lead and implement comprehensive process audits at supplier facilities, tracking findings through closure and providing supportive guidance for continuous improvement
  • Spearhead Supplier Quality Improvement Projects (SQIP), driving innovation and measurable results across the supplier base
  • Monitor and evaluate 8D problem-solving activities, providing training and mentorship to suppliers to enhance their quality management capabilities
  • Collect, analyze, and manage failure costs and quality claims, working transparently with suppliers to resolve issues efficiently
  • Support third-party and customer audits, representing our organization with professionalism and thorough documentation
  • Collaborate with other plant locations and departments to share best practices and support organizational goals
