What you will do:

• Develop and optimize the middle & short-term trading strategies of Global Energy Management (GEM) in the various European markets where GEM is active (Iberia & Rest of Europe). The Planning & Market Optimization team is responsible for
  • (i) developing planning & bidding strategies at different markets (DAM/IDM/XBID/IMB/Constraints) to maximize trading revenues;
  • (ii) performing analysis required by other departments (e.g., RGA, FP&A, Origination, R&M, Back Office);
  • (iii) analyzing market regulations affecting short-term strategies, and
  • (iv) developing market tools to support Front Office Operations and reporting of market results.
• Development of optimization studies for the sale of electricity in the countries where the Market Operations Unit performs direct market participation.
• Coordinate the analysis of market evolution and strategy performance to improve the results of market operations through new strategy proposals. Business Analysis in the severall markets to establish the best possible strategies
• Coordinate the strategy performance reporting and data handling for the communication of Market Operations results to internal departments. This requires a strong communication and coordination with IT&Digitalization team to deploy the technical solutions required.
• Coordinates the performance of analysis required by EM - Origination to support during negotiation processes for PPAs or contracts for Market Representation.
• Coordinates the Business Plan/Budget simulations & reports, in strong cooperation with FP&A
• Provides support to other departments (RGA, FP&A, Origination, R&M, Back Office) through specific analysis on imbalance costs for existing and new geographies
• Coordinate the elaboration of specific studies related with energy market operations activities (i.e energy storage)
• Support the Director for Short Term Asset Optimization whithin the global digitalization project of GEM, considering all the topics related to Optimization Models, algo traders and AI algorithms for bidding in both DA, ID markets and ancillary services

What are we looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years of relevant professional experience
• Knowledge of applicable legislation
• Understanding of the EDP Renewables fleet in Europe
• Knowledge of electricity and energy markets
• Knowledge of renewable energy regulation and transmission grids
• Knowledge of Risk Management
