O Castro British School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Early Years Teacher to join our team:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver engaging, play‑based and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, ensuring strong coverage of communication and language, personal and social development, early literacy, early numeracy, and exploration of the world around them.
- Support children aged 3-5 years in developing secure foundational skills, confidence, independence, curiosity, and positive learning behaviours.
- Regularly observe, assess, and document children's progress using formative assessment methods, sharing feedback with parents and contributing to learning journals or profiles.
- Contribute to the planning and development of high‑quality EYFS resources, continuous provision areas, and outdoor learning environments.
- Support enrichment activities such as sensory play sessions, themed days, family events, or educational visits designed for Early Years pupils.
- Create a nurturing, safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that promotes wellbeing, positive relationships, and active, hands‑on learning through play.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- C1/C2 level of English.
- Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching in an Early Years or nursery setting.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, early childhood development, and effective pedagogical approaches for young learners.
