The Business Assurance division provides management system certification and supplier management services across leading international standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001) under national and international accreditation.

It also offers specialised expertise in sector schemes, including Automotive (IATF 16949), Aerospace (AS/EN 9100), ISO 39001, and other globally recognised standards.

Services include supplier qualification and development, CSR audits, industry-specific compliance, performance monitoring, and support for product and process development, including escalation and special supplier status management.

We are currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Lead Auditor to join our Certification Body team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting third‑party audits for Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001) in accordance with applicable international standards and accreditation requirements.

Beyond auditing responsibilities, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to be developed into a Technical Reviewer and, subsequently, a Certification Decision Maker.

In this role, you will play a key part in safeguarding the impartiality, consistency, and credibility of the certification process, contributing directly to the quality and reliability of Intertek's management system certifications.

You will be responsible for:

• Plan, conduct, and lead certification, surveillance, and recertification audits for EMS, QMS, and OHS management systems.
• Prepare audit programs, audit reports, non‑conformity reports, and follow‑up actions in line with accreditation and organizational requirements.
• Ensure audit activities are delivered in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1 and internal procedures.
• Communicate audit findings clearly and professionally to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Manage audit timelines and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Support clients in understanding audit outcomes and opportunities for improvement (without consulting).
• Maintain professional competence in assigned schemes through continuous training and development.
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities Development Path - Technical Reviewer & Certification Decision Maker

• Review audit reports performed by other auditors and the associated corrective action plans for completeness and effectiveness
• Verify proper classification of nonconformities and adequacy of evidence
• Confirm scopes of certification and compliance with standards
• Support certification decision-making with impartial, independent technical judgment

· Ensure adherence to relevant normative documents, technical rules, and internal quality procedures.

Requirements

What are we looking for:

• Minimum 3 years of auditing experience with a Certification Body for ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17021-1
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field (or equivalent experience)
• Fluent in English; additional languages (Italian, French, German) are a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
