Information Governance Operations Manager

Other key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the Information Governance Operations Department, as well as supervising and developing the team
- Advising and educating firm personnel on the appropriate locations where data should be stored, understanding the firm’s systems and tools, and acting as a resource regarding various information governance questions for staff, attorneys, and other users
- Managing all aspects for all information governance processes including file intakes, releases, destructions, and data access requests for the office, ensuring compliance with firm policies, ensuring completion of the relevant process, and responding to questions from staff and other users and providing instruction and training as needed
- Implementing information governance policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with legal standards
- Developing and supervising orientation and training programs for Information Governance
- Researching and providing continuous improvement strategies for the office, while managing and driving changing objectives related to the information governance field

- Display the ability to supervise work of others to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Possess knowledge of information governance, data security and privacy principles, best practices, and procedures; display basic understanding of various legal systems and a broad understanding of the types of documents encountered in a legal environment
And have:
- Information Governance, Records, Archive, Information Resources or relevant experience, preferably in a law firm
- Experience in leading a team, and organizing and coordinating their work to ensure departmental objectives are met in a timely and accurate manner
- Experience implementing and administering policies and procedures, preferably
- Fluent proficiency in both English and French

About the Role
The Information Governance Operations Manager is an integral part of Latham's Information Governance team. This role will be responsible for providing leadership and managing all day-to-day operations of the Information Governance Operations team, while leveraging opportunities to enhance the Information Governance program by utilizing a thorough understanding of information management, security, and privacy principles. This role will be located in our Brussels office and will support the Paris and the Brussels offices. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
