Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • 15+ years minimum experience in Software Engineering 
  • Held accountability to deliver major transformation initiatives, product with global rollout in the last 3 years 
  • Firm understanding of the global macro-technology trends, the evolution and applicability of these trends as they apply to the business domain in NIQ 
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Java, J2EE Stack, API first approach 
  • Expert in architectural guardrails for data privacy, model usage, multi-cloud interoperability, and cost efficiency 
  • Defined end to end reference architectures for Gen AI solutions 
  • Experience AI productization: APIs, SDKs, batch/stream inference, caching, throttling, and resiliency patterns 
  • Integrated foundation models (OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, open source LLMs, equivalent) based on task fit, safety, latency, and cost 
  • Deep product development expertise and understanding of enterprise technologies, platforms, APIs, microservices, rdbms, nosql 
  • Strong experience developing, managing Platform teams focused on Developer Life Cycle and Infrastructure. 
  • Excellent understanding of SDLC and DevSecOps technologies as they apply to Application development and lifecycle 
  • Deep experience in leading globally distributed teams and influencing globally distributed stakeholders. 
  • Exceptional leadership skills and an ability to develop and motivate a large team of engineers. 
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, including the ability to lead architecture discussions with global teams operating in an Agile delivery model. 
  • Exceptional communication skills with global & diverse audiences - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

Director Engineering, Chennai

  • This is a leadership role Responsible for delivering a strategic vision at-scale to enable our customers to drive their business forward through moments that matter. Responsible for leading and managing a Platform Services Engineering organization. Promotes a diverse and inclusive work environment by embedding DEI principles into hiring, development, and retention strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Architecture, Design, build out, customer adoption and operating the Platform.
  • Have a deep understanding of our business domain, Internal Platforms, our data & analytics capabilities, and our technology capabilities to deliver value via a platform as a service approach.
  • Lead enablement via the platform built with modern engineering with seamless integration, full automation, and exceptional self-service implementation.
  • Partner with Global stakeholders to deliver innovative impactful solutions.
  • Monitor the team's performance and metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process changes to improve efficiency
  • Accountable for resource planning/budget adherence for the respective team(s) and defines guidelines, processes, and procedures to ensure organizational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develops and manages strategic budgets, aligning financial planning with long-term strategic goals and optimizing resource allocation
  • Defines AI-enabled engineering practices for an entire domain, standardizing tooling, prompts, automation patterns, and measurable productivity outcomes.
  • Defines domain-wide DevSecOps strategy, Cybersec strategy, aligns teams on tooling and guardrails, and ensures secure, efficient delivery across a portfolio of products or services
  • Identifies and nurtures talent and future leaders, identifies development needs/potential within their organization and pro-actively addresses skill gaps through targeted and structured development measures and programs, including mentoring of lower-level leaders
  • Influences the opinions and decision-making of peers and internal stakeholders to achieve departmental objectives; builds consensus and drives adoption of recommendations
