Okta is The World's Identity Company. We free everyone to safely use any technology, anywhere, on any device or app. Our flexible and neutral products, Okta Platform and Auth0 Platform, provide secure access, authentication, and automation, placing identity at the core of business security and growth.
At Okta, we celebrate a variety of perspectives and experiences. We are not looking for someone who checks every single box - we're looking for lifelong learners and people who can make us better with their unique experiences.
Join our team! We're building a world where Identity belongs to you.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead Multi-Cloud Migrations: Direct the migration of legacy and containerized services to scalable Kubernetes clusters across AWS (EKS) and GCP (GKE), ensuring high availability and seamless traffic management between providers.
- Architect Hybrid Infrastructure: Design and optimize resilient Kubernetes architectures that leverage cloud-native features from both AWS and GCP to meet global business demands.
- Unified CI/CD & GitOps: Build and maintain cross-cloud pipelines using Spinnaker, ArgoCD, or GitLab CI, automating deployments to both EKS and GKE clusters.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use Terraform to provision and manage complex infrastructure across multiple providers, maintaining a single source of truth for cloud resources.
- Global Observability: Enhance multi-cloud monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack, creating unified dashboards that aggregate metrics from CloudWatch and Google Cloud Monitoring.
- Multi-Cloud Security: Implement and enforce security best practices including cross-cloud IAM roles, Workload Identity, and Service Mesh (Istio/Anthos Service Mesh) for secure pod-to-pod communication across regions.
- Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotations, performing root cause analysis for production issues across a diverse, multi-cloud infrastructure.
What You'll Bring to the Role:
- k8s Expertise: Expert knowledge of core Kubernetes (Pods, StatefulSets, PV/PVC) with hands-on experience managing both Amazon EKS and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Container Orchestration: Skilled in Docker and advanced deployment patterns using Helm, Kustomize, and Kubernetes Operators.
- Cloud-Native Networking: Deep understanding of VPC peering, Interconnect/Direct Connect, Ingress Controllers, and Service Meshes (Istio, Linkerd) for secure multi-cloud microservices.
- Automation Mastery: Expert-level Terraform skills specifically for multi-provider environments (AWS and GCP modules).
- Global CI/CD: Extensive experience with GitOps (ArgoCD) and deployment tools that support multi-cluster targets.
- Monitoring & Logging: Experience setting up centralized observability platforms that integrate with Fluentd, Prometheus, and Google Cloud Operations suite.
- Security & Compliance: Familiarity with RBAC, Network Policies, and Workload Identity. Experience with secrets management using HashiCorp Vault or native Cloud Secret Managers.
Experience:
- 4+ years migrating and architecting mission-critical workloads in multi-cloud environments (AWS & GCP).
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with the AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, RDS) and GCP ecosystem (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery).
- 3+ years of professional experience using Terraform to manage infrastructure at scale across multiple cloud providers.
- Strong coding skills in Go or Python for building custom automation and cloud integrations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred Certifications: CKA/CKAD, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
