Minimum Requirements
- University degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Project Management, or a related technical field.
- Some previous experience in project coordination, project management, design, architecture, engineering, construction, consulting, or planning.
- Fluent English, written and spoken, at C1 level or above.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Spanish language proficiency.
- Other European languages, especially German, Italian, French, Polish, Dutch, or Portuguese.
- Experience with public-sector, institutional, U.S. Government, federal, or defense-sector projects.
- Familiarity with Deltek GovWin, SAM.gov, client procurement portals, government solicitations, IDIQ contracts, task orders, RFPs, RFIs, PPIs, or proposal compliance matrices.
- Experience with project controls, schedules, budgets, risk registers, document control, financial reporting, or deliverable tracking.
- Experience with tools such as MS Project, Power BI, Deltek, Oracle, SharePoint, or similar platforms.

Job Description
AECOM Buildings + Places is actively seeking a highly organized Junior Project Manager to be based in our Madrid office.
As a Junior Project Manager, you will be joining a highly motivated and proactive team, working on multidisciplinary projects delivered across several geographies for public-sector, institutional, U.S. Government, and defense-sector clients. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their project management career who wants exposure to international projects, senior professionals, structured project delivery, and the full project life cycle.
You will work with Project Managers, Project Directors, technical teams, finance, commercial/operations leadership, subconsultants, and clients across several geographies.
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited, to the following tasks:
You will support senior Project Managers and Project Directors with::
- Day-to-day project coordination across architecture, engineering, planning, environmental, and specialist teams.
- Project setup, planning, delivery, reporting, and closeout.
- Tracking actions, deadlines, deliverables, risks, changes, invoices, and project documentation.
- Preparing meeting notes, client updates, presentations, progress reports, and internal review materials.
- Coordinating with subconsultants and vendors.
- Monitoring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and contractual requirements.
- Supporting proposal and work-winning activities, including RFP reviews, compliance tracking, fee inputs, and deadline management.
- Using tools such as Deltek GovWin, SAM.gov, client portals, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and internal AECOM systems.
- Learning how international, public-sector, and U.S. Government projects are planned, managed, delivered, and closed.

- Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Open to occasional travel.
