Mission

Almirall is looking for a senior professional expert to lead and transform the digital landscape supporting Quality Assurance (QA) operations and transversal business processes using the Veeva platform and other enterprise systems. This role will be responsible for ensuring that the platforms supporting QA, document management, contract lifecycle, packaging design, and sustainability initiatives deliver maximum business value and regulatory compliance.

Reporting directly to the IT Service Delivery Associate Director for Industrial, this position holds end-to-end accountability for system ownership, continuous improvement, and alignment between business needs and IT solutions.

  • Acts as System Owner for assigned applications, ensuring lifecycle management and compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Partners with business leadership to translate strategic objectives into IT capabilities and processes.
  • Ensures IT solutions maximize business value and efficiency through standardization, integration, and best practices.
  • Defines how IT systems support the Business Processes led by the Business Process Owners (BPOs), within projects or enhancements.
  • Guarantees system reliability, data integrity, and adherence to GxP and Quality standards.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Operational

  • Support the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of the Veeva Quality Suite (VMS, QualityDocs, QMS, Training, etc.) and related QA systems.
  • Oversee cross-functional platforms for document management, contract management, packaging design, and sustainability tracking.
  • Ensure systems and integrations are compliant with GxP, CSV (Computer System Validation), and data integrity standards.
  • Align system evolution with corporate quality policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to optimize workflows, eliminate redundancies, and drive automation.
  • Support and coordinate vendor and partner activities for the systems in scope.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of incidents, service requests, and enhancements.
  • Manage demand intake, prioritization, and execution in collaboration with Business Process Owners.
  • Document business and functional requirements, ensuring clear traceability to technical solutions.
  • Facilitate proper knowledge transfer and documentation for application maintenance providers.
  • Apply project management and Agile methodologies to deliver solutions efficiently and with measurable impact.

Communication

  • Act as a bridge between IT and business stakeholders, translating technical capabilities into business outcomes.
  • Lead workshops and meetings for requirement gathering, process design, and validation.
  • Collaborate proactively across departments (Quality, Regulatory, Legal, R&D, Sustainability) to ensure consistent alignment.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external partners to guarantee quality delivery.
  • Provide visibility on project progress, risks, and mitigations to senior management.
  • Business
  • Partner with Business Process Owners to define and maintain an operational roadmap aligned with business strategy.
  • Drive Change Management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new tools and processes.
  • Identify and propose opportunities for digital innovation in quality, compliance, and sustainability domains.
  • Ensure that systems in scope contribute effectively to Almirall's strategic vision of operational excellence and environmental responsibility.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • ≥ 5 years of experience managing enterprise IT systems with significant business impact across multiple change dimensions (process, organization, location, data, application, technology).
  • Proven experience in Veeva Vault (preferably in Quality or Regulatory modules).
  • Strong background in QA, Quality Systems, or GxP environments within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Experience in document management, contract lifecycle management, and collaboration platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large IT implementations and managing complex stakeholder networks.
  • Preferably ≥ 3 years working in cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management.

Specific Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of Veeva Vault platform and related Quality applications.
  • Knowledge of GxP, CSV, and data integrity principles.
  • Experience with Document Management Systems (DMS), Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), and Sustainability Reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum frameworks (certifications are a plus).
  • Experience using Jira Software for demand and project management.
  • Languages: Spanish and English proficiency (written and spoken).
  • Technical and functional expertise in the assigned business areas.
