Purpose

The Global Communication Specialist supports the delivery of ALS' global communication strategy by developing and delivering high-quality internal and external communication that strengthens the ALS brand, protects itsreputationand supports business priorities.

Based in Europe, the role extends the capability of the Global Communication team across time zones, strengthening connections across the business and supporting the consistent delivery of global communication.

Working closely with the Group Communication Director and Senior Global Communication Specialist, the roleworks withstakeholders across the business tosupportcommunication strategies,developengaging content and deliver communication plans that align with ALS' strategicobjectives.

The role works with a high degree of autonomy in day-to-day delivery whileoperatingwithin established communication strategies, governanceframeworksand agreed priorities.

As a member of the Global Communication team, the rolecontributes to a consistent, coordinated approach across regions, ensuring communication activities are aligned, audience focused and delivered to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

Strategic communication

  • Support the development and delivery of communication strategies for global business initiatives

  • Support the translation ofbusiness priorities into communication plans anddeliveryactivities

  • Providecommunication advice to stakeholders within established communication frameworks

  • Identifycommunication risks and escalate matters where appropriate

  • Monitor communication outcomes andidentifyopportunities forimprovements

  • Apply ALS' communications policies,governanceand brand standards across all communication activities.

Internal communication

  • Manage assigned global communication programs and initiatives, taking responsibility for planning,deliveryand stakeholder coordination.

  • Develop employee communication, leadership messages, presentations, intranetcontentand communication toolkits

  • Support global communication programs, including organisational change, employee engagement initiatives, leadershipcommunicationand business updates

  • Ensure messaging is consistent across regions and aligned with ALS' strategic priorities.

External communication

  • Develop media materials, corporate messaging, website content, social mediacopyand client communication

  • Support reputation management and corporate affairs activities

  • Assistwith issues and crisis communication asrequired.

Content development

  • Produce clear,engagingandaccuratecommunication for a wide range of audiences

  • Translate technical or complex information into accessible language

  • Maintain a consistently high standard of writing,editingand proofreading, ensuringconsistency and alignment with ALS' messaging and positioning

  • Ensure all communication align with ALS' brand,styleand tone of voice.

Stakeholder engagement

  • Build strong working relationships across the global business, acting as a key connection between regional stakeholders and the Global Communication team to ensure communication priorities, opportunities and emerging issues are shared and aligned

  • Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across the business to understand communication needs and recommendappropriate communicationapproaches.

  • Work collaboratively with regional communication,marketingand subject matter experts to deliver integrated communication outcomes

  • Manage assigned work priorities while working within agreed communication plans and governance frameworks.

Team contribution

  • Work collaboratively as part of the global Communication team, contributing to shared priorities and collective outcomes.

  • Maintain regular communication and effective handovers to ensure continuity,visibilityand consistent decision-making across time zones.

  • Support a consistentglobal communication approach by applying agreed frameworks,standardsand best practice.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen communication capability and effectiveness.

  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to colleagues and communication champions across the business whereappropriate.

Qualifications andexperience

Essential

  • Tertiary qualificationinCommunication, Public Relations, Journalism or Corporate Communication.

  • 3-5 years' experience in a corporate communication role.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering both internal and external communication.

  • Experiencecontributing tocommunication strategies and executing communication plans.

  • Exceptional writing,editingand storytelling skills.

  • Experience supporting senior business stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal English.

  • Experience working across multiple countries,culturesor regions.

  • Strong organisational and project management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in a multinational or listed organisation.

  • Experience within a science, technical, healthcare,engineeringor professional services environment.

  • Experience supporting issues management or crisis communication.

  • Fluency inEnglish, Spanish and/or another European language.
