The Procurement Compliance Specialist role will be responsible for the planning, management and execution of the audits & compliance activities within the Global Procurement Organization (GPO), which has recently created its internal Audits & Compliance team in order to ensure adherence to the Source to Pay (S2P) policies and processes, to reduce risk, to prevent fraud and to avoid compliance gaps from evolving into significant challenges.
The role of the Procurement Compliance Specialist will execute the GPO Audits & Compliance strategy in order to ensure that all procurement activities adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. This role involves conducting regular audits, analyzing procurement standards, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies, processes, laws and regulations. The specialist will work closely with procurement teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to maintain transparency, integrity, and efficiency in the procurement process.
Key job responsibilities
1. Conduct regular audits of procurement activities to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations; investigate and resolve discrepancies or non-compliance issues identified during audits.
2. Develop and implement audit & compliance programs and procedures to mitigate procurement risks; recommend and implement best practices and innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
3. Program manage audits, compliance activities, and mitigation projects end-to-end (project planning, stakeholder management, KPI definition, change management, and progress reporting).
4. Partner with Process & Execution and procurement technology teams to analyze gaps, define mitigation action plans, and support automation and transformation of compliance operations.
5. Prepare detailed audit reports and compliance assessments for senior management; maintain accurate records of all audit activities, findings, and corrective actions.
6. Provide training and guidance to procurement teams on compliance requirements, policies, and procedures; support development of procurement-related documentation and training materials.
