The Role

As Manager - Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting, you will lead the global accounting operations for fixed assets and leases across Booking Holdings' brands. Reporting to the RTR Center Lead, India, this role sits at the intersection of technical accounting, operational execution, people leadership, and transformation.

You will own the integrity of balance sheet and P&L reporting for fixed assets and leases globally, while building a high-performing team and partnering closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Technology, Tax, FP&A, and Real Estate.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Global Accounting Ownership

  • Lead global, cross-brand fixed asset and lease accounting operations in compliance with US GAAP and SOX.

  • Oversee month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.

  • Sign off on balance sheet integrity, P&L accuracy, and supporting schedules for fixed assets and leases.

  • Own compliance, controls, and audit readiness for all assigned processes.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Deliver accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting.

  • Support SEC filings, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements.

  • Act as a key partner for internal and external auditors.

  • Maintain and enhance SOX documentation, controls, and governance.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and develop a global team of fixed asset and lease accountants.

  • Coach team members through complex accounting issues and operational challenges.

  • Foster engagement, accountability, and continuous learning within the team.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner with senior Finance leaders and brand stakeholders globally.

  • Collaborate closely with External Reporting, Technical Accounting, Tax, FP&A, P2P, Real Estate, and Technology teams.

  • Work with third-party lease abstraction partners to ensure data quality and timeliness.

Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive efficiency, standardization, and automation across fixed asset and lease accounting processes.

  • Partner with Process Excellence teams on finance transformation initiatives.

  • Lead improvements to KPIs, metrics, and management reporting.

  • Contribute to special projects including system enhancements, process redesign, and analytics initiatives.

What You Bring

Experience & Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • CA or equivalent professional qualification.

  • 15+ years of experience in Finance and Accounting, ideally within a multinational or Big4 environment.

  • 5+ years of people leadership experience.

  • Experience working in a Global Business Services, Shared Services, or COE environment is a strong plus.

  • Exposure to large, publicly listed U.S. companies preferred.

Technical & Systems Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX.

  • Hands-on experience with fixed assets and lease accounting (ASC 360 and ASC 842 preferred).

  • Working knowledge of SAP / SAP S/4HANA; experience with CoStar, OneStream, or BlackLine is a plus.

  • Strong financial reporting, analysis, and control mindset.
