Role Overview

This is a hands-on delivery role for a proactive professional with strong commercial acumen and experience in low-carbon fuels, commercial structuring, complex deal making and project management.

The commercial specialist will play an important delivery role in identifying market opportunities, supporting strategic business case development, commercial structuring, complex commercial frameworks, alliance agreements (including M&A, JV, term deals), for biofuels and e‑fuels projects in Asia, ensuring bankable business cases and strategic alignment while delivering projects and offtake agreements in collaboration with Moeve headquarter on global initiatives.

Since we are a small and agile team, the ideal candidate should be comfortable working across a matrix organization, operate effectively in a hybrid work environment, and be well-rounded with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Growth & Market Expansion: Identify and develop new origination opportunities, low-carbon fuels and hydrogen derivatives, with a focus on Asia's evolving landscape.
  • Commercial & Deal Structuring: To build on existing and new opportunities identified to deliver commercial frameworks, commercially viable structures including offtake agreements, pricing models, JV/M&A structures, and alliance agreements to enable market entry and growth. Support origination portfolio and strategy, negotiations and execution of supply agreements, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
  • Commercial Strategy & P&L Impact: Develop revenue generation opportunities by contributing to pricing strategies, origination strategy and improving profitability through innovative commercial models.
  • Business Case Development: Build investment-ready business cases using tools like SWOT analysis; consolidate inputs from legal, finance, strategy, and trading teams.
  • Project Execution: Lead end-to-end delivery of origination projects with clear milestones, governance, and stakeholder alignment. Implement governance structures, project charters, and workstream setups to ensure execution readiness across all project phases.
  • Global/Regional Focus: Deliver global commercial structuring and project execution for hydrogen and derivatives, while supporting opportunity delivery origination strategic control points (Including Asia). Coordinate with the Singapore team to ensure regional initiatives align with global strategy. Track EU and global regulatory signals and collaborate with commercial clean energy originators and BD leads to deliver opportunities and offtake agreements. Oversee the global origination project funnel, ensuring timely delivery, clear oversight of offtake agreements and projects, and strategic alignment across all teams.
  • Integrated Value Chain Development: Support commercial models and develop value chain mapping across biofuels, feedstocks, hydrogen derivatives in alignment with Moeve's commercial processes and origination principles.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:Acts as a primary liaison with key internal and external stakeholders (Asia and Madrid), ensuring alignment and timely execution of deliverables. Orchestrates cross-functional workstreams discussions (Commercial team, legal, trading, finance, strategy, M&A etc.). Design, prepare materials and lead workshops to drive cross- functional (Trading, Biofuels, Hydrogen) alignment on way forward on initiatives to progress with business case execution.
  • Supports and delivers origination and front office activities: Develop and implement governance structures, workstream set up, project charters, commercial structuring, business case rationale, and value chain delivery. Consolidate inputs from SMES and trading team to support decision-making. Prepare materials for engagement to support business case narrative backed by clear data analysis and rationale.
  • Data & Commercial Analysis: Conduct in -depth complex data analysis and market assessment leveraging on existing/new reports, business intelligence, and external insights (regulatory developments, competitor analysis ) to develop business models and pricing views (To seek internal trading desks for guidance) to support strategic decision making.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Alliances: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including energy suppliers, buyers, technology providers, regulatory bodies and governmental agencies.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years years of experience in business development, commercial modelling, project delivery, deal structuring and route to market strategy execution within the energy sector.
  • Proven experience driving project execution across multiple stakeholders within complex energy or clean energy initiatives.
  • Experience with offtake agreements, commercial structuring, contract negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and benchmarking skills, including market analysis and business case development.
  • Commercial and business development background with solid project management and execution capabilities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills.
