Role

The Consolidation and Reporting Specialist (Junior Level) supports the consolidation team for the Europe region. In this role, you will assist with the consolidation of 44 group entities and contribute to the preparation of five sets of financial statements.

Working closely with senior team members, you will help ensure compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS requirements, gaining hands-on experience in technical accounting and audit-related matters. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in financial reporting within a complex, multinational environment.

Strong communication skills are important, as you will collaborate with colleagues across European finance teams and support interactions with external auditors. This role is well suited to a detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn and build a career in financial reporting and consolidation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements for UK and European entities in accordance with UK GAAP.
  • Support the consolidation of financial results from multiple European entities for group reporting purposes.
  • Contribute to the timely delivery of statutory accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial information.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for statutory audits and assist in responding to auditor queries.
  • Review financial information submitted by local finance teams and help investigate variances or inconsistencies.
  • Assist with consolidation adjustments, including intercompany eliminations and basic foreign currency translation entries.
  • Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting working papers to ensure robust audit trails.
  • Liaise with local finance teams across Europe to collect financial data and promote consistent application of accounting policies.
  • Support the maintenance and documentation of statutory and consolidation processes and controls.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and data quality within statutory and consolidation reporting.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within an international or multi-entity environment.
  • Understanding of statutory accounting and financial reporting principles; exposure to UK GAAP or IFRS is an advantage.
  • Experience working with multi-entity or international financial data would be beneficial.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), or progress towards one, would be a significant advantage but is not essential.
  • Confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different countries and cultures.
  • Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Well organised and methodical, with the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical accounting knowledge.
  • Professional and collaborative approach, suited to a corporate or professional services environment.
