What skills do I need?
-
PM depth. 5+ years in product management, owning the full lifecycle, discovery through delivery and optimization.

What's the Opportunity?
Every payin and payout at dLocal runs through Balance. It's not a feature it's the core infrastructure that determines whether a merchant can process a transaction at all. The Balance squad owns the engine that sits behind every currency, every country, every settlement window, and every overdraft decision across the platform.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and evolve the Balance squad. Your mission: make dLocal's balance system the most reliable, flexible, and intelligent merchant money engine in emerging markets one that powers multi-currency balances, a structured overdraft product, and the post-transactional logic that drives split payments and complex settlement flows.
What will I be doing?
-
Balance architecture. Own the balance strategy end-to-end: define how merchant funds are tracked, held, and made available across currencies, countries, and settlement windows. This is foundational infrastructure, decisions here ripple through every product in the platform.
-
Overdraft product. Build and launch the overdraft product: design the pricing framework (daily negative balance fees, credit lines, availability charges), set guardrails in coordination with Treasury, Risk, and Revenue, and expose configuration to commercial teams via Fee Manager. Overdraft is already live informally, your job is to make it a real, scalable, monetizable product.
-
Multi-balance. Define and implement multi-balance capabilities: allow merchants to hold and operate independent balances per currency (e.g., USD + LCY), ensuring payouts, FX conversions, and withdrawals pull from the right bucket at the right moment, without manual accounting hacks.
-
Post-transactional flows. Own post-transactional flows including split payments: define how funds are allocated at the balance layer after settlement (BNPL flows, split models, PSP-to-merchant settlement). Coordinate with Platforms and Finance to ensure transactional balance accuracy matches real fund flows.
-
Reconciliation. Drive balance reconciliation and operational accuracy: work with Finance and Engineering to ensure the balance engine reconciles daily, surfaces discrepancies early, and reduces manual interventions.
-
Cross-functional ownership. Lead cross-functional squads, Engineering, Treasury, Finance, Risk, Revenue, and Compliance, to deliver. Bring structure to multi-team dependencies and keep things moving without formal authority.
-
Product specs & technical depth. Write tight specs and work directly with Engineering on architecture decisions. The balance layer is complex and tightly coupled, you need to understand the system well enough to make confident calls.
-
Measure what matters. Define success metrics, measure outcomes, and iterate. Ship fast, learn fast.
