Senior Specialist - Functional Safety

Job Introduction:


As a System Safety Engineer (Senior Specialist), you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 across the complete system development lifecycle. Your role will involve performing system safety analysis (HARA, FSC, TSC), defining safety concepts, deriving safety

requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that safety goals are met. You will also support FMEDA activities, safety validation, and confirm compliance through reviews, audits, and safety case documentation.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage system requirements and specifications with a strong focus on ISO 26262 functional safety compliance.

  • Perform safety analyses such as FMEA, FTA, DFA, and FMEDA for eDrive systems.

  • Support Functional Safety Management activities, including safety planning, safety case creation, and progress tracking.

  • •Assist project safety managers in preparing for and conducting functional safety audits and assessments.


Knowledge and Education:

A bachelor's degree or master's degree in electrical/electronics, or a related technical field is mandatory.


Work Experience:

  • 10-12 years of experience in defining and specifying system safety requirements and concepts for eDrive or comparable products.

  • Proven experience in customer requirement elicitation and direct interaction with customers.

  • Hands-on experience in safety analysis and functional safety management activities.

  • Knowledge of risk assessment in system testing is desirable.

  • Background in automotive industry is mandatory

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven experience in deriving Functional Safety Concept (FSC), Functional Safety Requirements (FSR), Technical Safety Concept (TSC), and Technical Safety Requirements (TSR).

  • Strong understanding of Functional Safety Analysis and its critical role in achieving compliance with ISO 26262.

  • Extensive experience performing HARA using the HAZOP method to derive safety goals.

  • In-depth knowledge of the E-GAS three-level monitoring concept.

  • Solid expertise in ASIL Decomposition and ASIL Reduction techniques.

  • Basic understanding of hardware circuits and schematic is mandatory.

  • Strong understanding of eDrive functional safety concepts, including subcomponents such as inverter, electric motor (PMSM/ASM), and clutch unit.

  • Basic understanding of system testing, software testing, and unit testing is highly desirable.

  • Experience in developing Safety Element out of Context (SEooC) is desirable.

  • Comprehensive understanding of eDrive units and electric vehicle architectures.

  • Good working knowledge of PMSM and ASM operation.

  • Familiarity with ASPICE processes and ISO 26262 standards.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and customers.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills under pressure.

  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools such as PTC and DOORS is preferred.
