Role Overview

Reporting to the Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) Product Manager, this position will serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) and be responsible for building and optimizing RESTful APIs for Identity & Access Management (IAM) services enterprise-wide. The role requires a technically strong individual who is resourceful and highly self-motivated. The successful candidate should have 7+ years of experience working in API engineering for a large enterprise environment and possess good experience working with numerous technologies typically used in the field.

What will you do in this role

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Spring Boot 3.4.2 and JDK 17 to support and extend the functionality of a web-based JAVA application.
  • Implement robust authentication and authorization solutions leveraging Spring Security (JWT/OAuth2) to ensure secure access to application resources.
  • Integrate APIs with Oracle Database using PL/SQL, focusing on efficient data access and manipulation.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, including automated security scans (SCA/SAST) to uphold code quality and compliance.
  • Architect and manage scalable API infrastructure on AWS, balancing performance, security, and cost optimization while supporting enterprise growth and demand.
  • Produce and update clear API (Swagger) and SDLC documentation, adhering to established coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development and production environments, ensuring reliable API performance.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives); break work into Jira issues and deliver sprint commitments.
  • Work closely with fellow API developers and the Identity Governance Engineering team to align deliverables with business and security requirements.

What should you have

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or any related field.

  • 7+ years' experience in enterprise-scale API development
  • Strong in Java (JDK 17), Spring Boot, and Spring Security
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, Oracle Database, PL/SQL, AWS Services
  • Familiarity with CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and JIRA
  • Secure coding practices and API security
  • Effective communication and problem-solving

Preferred

  • Experience with identity governance, IAM concepts
  • Experience in enterprise or regulated environments (healthcare preferred)
  • Knowledge of NIST standards, Windows/Linux servers
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle, Java, CISSP, Security+)
