Applications Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer to join our team in Spain. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to work at the leading edge of technical solution delivery and system integration.

Responsibilities / What you will do

• Lead and support the deployment of new software and hardware applications, with emphasis on integration and advanced alloy manufacturing workflows.

• Characterise and optimise application performance (e.g., reliability, user efficiency, thermal performance, and system compatibility).

• Conduct experimental testing and analysis of application feedstocks and integrated systems.

• Collaborate with process engineers and design teams to ensure application performance aligns with end-use applications.

• Develop and maintain technical databases, test standards, and qualification processes for new applications.

• Support R&D projects, contributing to technical reports, publications, and presentations for clients.

• Stay current with emerging applications, technologies, and industry standards in related manufacturing methods.

Experience / Who you are

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• Proven experience in technical applications development or systems engineering within a manufacturing context.

• Strong background in physical and functional characterisation (mechanical, thermal, or system analysis).

• Hands-on experience with testing techniques and validation tools for complex engineering systems.

• Ability to design and execute experiments, interpret data, and draw actionable conclusions for stakeholders.

• Proficiency in technical reporting and the ability to communicate results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Knowledge of how applications interact with design (DfAM) and material-process behaviors.

• Familiarity with simulation tools (FEA) or engineering software for testing application behavior.

• Experience with quality systems and qualification frameworks, such as aerospace or automotive standards
