What You Can Expect:
Operational Leadership
- Lead and oversee national project logistics operations, ensuring consistent execution, safety, and service excellence across all projects
- Establish clear performance objectives and accountability standards for the division
- Conduct performance reviews, develop direct reports, and mentor emerging leaders to strengthen long-term succession
- Ensure all projects are delivered in compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and client commitments
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex operational challenges and high-impact client matters
Financial Management
- Maintain full P&L responsibility for the national Projects Division, driving revenue growth and margin performance
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget, including oversight of SG&A and cost controls
- Conduct monthly financial reviews and variance analysis, implementing corrective actions where required
- Provide executive-level reporting on financial results, operational KPIs, and commercial pipeline activity
- Ensure disciplined billing practices and strong cash flow management.
Business Development & Strategic Industry Engagement
- Partner with the Projects Sales team to identify, pursue, and secure new project logistics opportunities
- Build and strengthen relationships with global partners, agents, carriers, and key clients
- Support account development through client engagement, site visits, and technical subject-matter expertise
- Represent the division at global project meetings, industry conferences, and trade events
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that expand national capabilities and enhance market positioning.
What You Bring:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in project logistics, freight forwarding, heavy-lift, breakbulk, or out-of-gauge cargo operations, including significant leadership responsibility and full P&L exposure
- Demonstrated leadership experience with full P&L accountability at a branch, regional, or national level
- Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost discipline
- Experience developing and executing national or regional business strategies aligned with global objectives
- Deep understanding of complex, multimodal transport solutions including ocean chartering, air charter, barge, and specialized inland transport
- Proven track record managing large-scale, high-value, or time-critical industrial logistics projects
- Established relationships within key industry sectors such as energy, oil and gas, renewables, mining, infrastructure, or EPC contractors
- Advanced financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and SG&A oversight
- Experience structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements with clients, carriers, and subcontractors
- Strong risk management capabilities, including contract review, liability exposure assessment, and compliance oversight
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across operations, engineering, sales, and finance
- Ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing teams in a specialized project cargo environment
- Familiarity with international trade regulations, customs frameworks, and project compliance requirements
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across global networks and matrix organizations
- Executive-level communication skills with the ability to engage clients, partners, and senior leadership confidently
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally as required.
