Academic Background: Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics or Applied Mathematics.
Hands-On ML Experience: 3+ years of professional experience developing and deploying machine learning models, with at least 1 year focused on deep learning and NLP.
Software Development Experience: 6+ years in software development/tech or SWE roles, demonstrating strong engineering practices, code quality, and collaboration.
Programming Skills: Strong Python skills, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn; experience with version control (Git), collaborative code reviews and containerization.
LLM Specialization: Hands-on experience with OpenAI GPT APIs (or competitors), Hugging Face Transformers, or Meta’s LLaMA models.

👉 Nice-to-Have skills

Frontend Development: Practical experience with React or VueJS for integrating AI-driven features into user interfaces.
C# & .NET Core: Hands-on experience building backend services or microservices in C# using .NET Core.
MLOps Tooling: Familiarity with MLflow, Kubeflow, or TFX for experiment tracking, model registry, and serving.

🔭 Job Description

Veepee is seeking a talented Senior AI Engineer to join its VeepeeTech team and drive the development and deployment of Generative AI solutions to enhance user experience (hyper personalization, search), sales and operational efficiencies (pricing mechanics, fraud detection, sales and media production, ...)

This role will contribute to end-to-end AI projects, from requirement qualification, business stakeholder exchange, and solution formalization, to data ingestion, potential model finetuning, project delivery, production deployment, and continuous monitoring while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners (product managers, developers, architects, data scientists, DevOps)

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with NLP/LLM architectures, modern deep learning frameworks, and deploying on-premise infrastructure while leveraging cloud-based LLM services; a solid foundation in statistics and mathematics with a genuine passion for modeling and problem formulation; significant professional experience on at least one concrete project involving the use of LLMs; and a proven track record of shipping AI models to production at scale.

🧑‍💻 Build, scale and optimize AI systems

Collaborate with stakeholders (product, marketing, operations, commerce, logistics) to analyze business challenges, define precise problem statements, and model them as tractable machine learning tasks (e.g., defining classification vs. ranking objectives, specifying metric targets).
Design, implement, and maintain scalable machine learning pipelines, emphasizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative architectures.
Fine-tune custom LLMs for specific use cases for cost and performance optimizations
Monitor AI systems performance in real time (latency, accuracy, drift) and establish automated retraining processes to maintain high quality, robustness, and fairness.
Partner with PMs, UX/UI designers and frontend/backend engineers to embed AI capabilities into Veepee's Information System

📒 Mentorship, Advocacy & Continuous Learning

Go-To Expert as VeepeeTech's primary point of contact for AI/ML questions, providing rapid, authoritative guidance to engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
Champion AI/ML initiatives internally by presenting clear business cases and pilot results to cross-functional teams, promoting new use cases (e.g., dynamic copy generation, advanced recommendation features) and driving adoption of proven solutions.
Dedicate time to "tech scouting", reading leading AI/ML research papers (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR), monitoring open-source repositories (Hugging Face, GitHub trending), and evaluating promising new tools (e.g., emerging LLM architectures, efficient inference libraries).
Encourage cross-team "hack days" focused on AI use cases providing mentorship during these events and ensuring high-impact ideas are transitioned into roadmap items.
Provide AI/ML/GenAI training and workshops to enhance people's (tech and non-tech) skills and knowledge.
