If you're driven by purpose, thrive on solving complex challenges, and want to be part of the team that's helping to secure the AI age, we invite you to bring your talents to Zscaler and help shape the future of cybersecurity.

Role

We are looking for a Senior Facilities Engineer to join our People & Culture team. Based in our San Jose, CA headquarters (onsite Monday-Friday), this role reports to the Senior Manager, Americas Workplace Operations. You will support our company's growth and drive innovation with collaborative and engaging workspaces. You will be responsible for the technical integrity, safety, and efficiency of our mission-critical and non-critical infrastructure, ensuring building systems generate a productive and secure environment.

What you'll do (Role Expectations)

  • Direct end-to-end operations and maintenance for critical building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), serving as the senior escalation lead for mission-critical outages
  • Manage operational budgets and the full procurement lifecycle while supervising third-party contractors to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Drive system longevity and efficiency through rigorous preventive maintenance programs and the use of advanced digital platforms like BAS/BMS
  • Champion workplace safety and compliance by leading emergency response teams, managing hazardous materials (IATA), and maintaining rigorous site-level operating procedures
  • Foster a culture of excellence by mentoring technical teams and partnering cross-functionally on energy management initiatives and large-scale infrastructure upgrades

Who You Are (Success Profile)

  • You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful.
  • You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. You adapt to what's needed, navigating seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
  • You are a problem-solver. You seek out challenges because you are energized by finding solutions, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact.
  • You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback-knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
  • You are a learner. You have a true growth mindset and never stop developing yourself, actively seeking feedback to become a better partner and a stronger teammate. You love what you do and you do it with purpose.

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Extensive experience in workplace solutions, facilities engineering, or similar roles with a focus on program management
  • Proven experience in managing mission-critical infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical distribution, and life-safety systems
  • Demonstrated expertise in vendor management, facilities budget development, and contract oversight
  • Experience managing SOP, MOP, and EOP programs and leading emergency response efforts
  • Experience with BMS/BAS platforms and CMMS tools for maintenance tracking

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • A Bachelor's degree in facilities management, business administration, engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in global, multicultural teams
  • A passion for innovation and a willingness to explore new ideas to create top-tier employee experiences
