Position Summary / Mission

The Senior Manager, Global Medical Excellence & Operations ensures alignment, coordination of priorities and flawless execution of medical strategies for the Derma franchise within Almirall Global Medical Affairs (GMA). This role drives strategic and operational excellence, strengthens global collaboration, and builds capabilities across the organization to deliver high-quality medical outcomes, contributing to the overall success of the Global Medical Affairs team. Collaborates closely with other relevant functions to enhance medical excellence & operations across the organization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Implement the GMA Medical Excellence strategy and operational framework, ensuring effective tactical planning and execution.

  • Ensure Medical Excellence across teams to deliver global medical strategies and impactful plans.

  • Align goals and priorities for the Derma franchise across GMA to ensure consistency and collaboration.

  • Enable co-creation and co-execution of medical strategies.

  • Support Field Medical (MSL) Excellence by establishing a high-performing customer-focused MSL model (training plan, compliance measurement, and KPIs).

  • Lead capability-building and upskilling initiatives for in-field teams (MSLs), including training programs, performance metrics, and best practice sharing to enhance scientific engagement and medical engagement impact.

  • Ensure flawless medical execution across countries and the GMA team, maintaining quality, compliance, and efficiency.

  • Ensure that all GMA deliverables are achieved within budget, with the highest standard of quality, and in compliance with all applicable quality processes, external requirements, ethical standards, and business needs.

  • Identify, share, and implement best practices; ensure consistency in processes/systems and developing partnerships with key colleagues across countries to ensure ongoing alignment, synergies, and efficiency.

  • Define and track meaningful metrics to support decision-making and reporting.

  • Optimize and drive adoption of medical CRM tool / medical dashboards.

  • Provide strategic & operational support for internal events & congresses.

  • Ensure continuous process optimization by defining or updating GMA procedures and/or ways of working.

  • Strengthen and develop the GMA community.

  • Collaborate closely with other relevant functions & countries.

Required Education & Experience

  • Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Excellence, or MSL management.

  • Previous management experience is preferred.

  • International/culturally diverse experience is preferred.

  • Advanced English proficiency.

  • Deep knowledge in Medical Excellence & Operations.

  • Strong leadership with demonstrated ability to lead and coach scientific/medical colleagues.

  • Strategic thinking and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Highly motivated with a demonstrated track record of high performance and producing outstanding results.

  • Independent, proactive, and skilled at managing priorities under tight deadlines.
