We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our procurement team in the R&D department of a leading pharmaceutical company. As a procurement intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic sourcing and contribute to the development of innovative products that enhance people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Procurement team in sourcing and selecting suppliers for pharmaceutical R&D services (e.g., CROs, labs, specialized vendors).
Assist in the preparation and execution of RFP processes, including data collection, supplier communication, and documentation.
Contribute to supplier evaluation by analysing key criteria such as quality, cost, timelines, and regulatory compliance.
Support contract and pricing analysis, helping to identify opportunities for optimization and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Clinical Operations, R&D, Finance, etc.) to understand business needs and translate them into procurement requirements.
Maintain procurement documentation and support reporting activities.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and digitalisation projects within the Procurement function.
Internal & External Relationships
Internal
Work closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal).
Support stakeholder alignment and contribute to collaborative procurement initiatives.
Gain exposure to strategic sourcing and category management practices.
External
Interact with suppliers to support day-to-day activities and data gathering.
Support the development of professional supplier relationships.
Gain understanding of supplier ecosystems within pharmaceutical R&D.
Profile & Requirements
Final-year student or recent graduate (Business, Life Sciences, Engineering or similar).
Strong interest in the pharmaceutical industry and procurement.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and structured way of working.
Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn in a dynamic environment.
Basic knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Fluency in English & Spanish
