As part of our Booking Holdings Romania team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the world's leading provider of online travel, with a mission of making it easier for everyone to experience the world through five-primary consumer facing brands: Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda, KAYAK and OpenTable.
This role provides a 1 year contract and a hybrid way of working with an onsite presence of 2 days/week.
Role description
Junior Privacy Specialists are responsible for a wide range of operational activities including but not limited to addressing privacy cases investigations and questions from data subjects as well as the orchestration and execution of privacy-related controls. They support projects and initiatives as per the Privacy Program Framework. They must have good communication and priority setting skills as well as attention to detail.
They are also expected to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within the Privacy and Data Protection Capability Area, and support the company's obligations in regard to data protection regulations and requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
Manage data subject rights requests (e.g., access, deletion, rectification) end-to-end, ensuring timely and compliant responses.
Handle privacy-related complaints, including coordinating responses to regulatory authorities and supporting complaint resolution processes.
Act as a first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, responding to queries related to privacy and data protection.
Support senior team members with complex privacy cases and investigations by gathering, analysing and validating relevant data across systems.
Conduct investigations into potential privacy issues or incidents, identifying root causes and recommending appropriate mitigation actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote privacy awareness, share insights, and contribute to continuous improvement of privacy practices and processes.
Role Qualifications and Requirements
Basic awareness of data protection and privacy concepts, including an understanding of the importance of protecting personal data and familiarity with general data subject rights (e.g., access, rectification, erasure) under GDPR.
Ability to prioritize incoming escalations and requests appropriately using clear communications.
Ability to investigate, retrieve and analyze data.
Strong decision making ability and being self-disciplined.
