We are now looking for a Backend Developer to join our Barcelona team and help us build and scale high-quality mobile experiences across our consumer app portfolio.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our engineering team. You will design, build, and operate backend services that support mobile apps and web experiences, with a strong focus on API quality, performance, and reliability. The ideal candidate will be comfortable building backend services for mobile products and working with API-heavy consumer apps.

You will collaborate with mobile, product, AI, and DevOps teams to ship features end to end, and you'll help bring AI-powered capabilities into production where relevant.

What You'll Be Doing

◦ Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting mobile and web clients.
◦ Build and evolve microservices and RESTful APIs with clean, maintainable architecture.
◦ Deploy, monitor, and support AI models and data-driven services in production environments.
◦ Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability across distributed systems.
◦ Collaborate closely with mobile, frontend, AI, product, and DevOps teams to deliver new features end to end.
◦ Troubleshoot, debug, and proactively improve system stability and observability.
◦ Contribute to code quality through reviews, testing, and documentation.

What You'll Bring

◦ 2 - 5 years of professional backend experience.
◦ Strong hands-on experience with both Node.js and Python.
◦ Experience designing and working with microservices architectures and RESTful APIs
◦ Solid understanding of databases, data modeling, and performance optimization.
◦ Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
◦ Good grasp of data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals.
◦ Ability to contribute effectively in high-scale environments handling large volumes of traffic and data.
◦ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
◦ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
◦ Comfortable working in English in a collaborative product team.

Nice to have

◦ Experience supporting mobile apps through backend APIs.
◦ Experience deploying or operating AI/ML models or AI-powered services.
◦ Experience with Google Cloud services (e.g., Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, App Engine) and Firebase.
◦ Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
◦ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
◦ Understanding of backend security principles and secure API design.
◦ Exposure to machine learning workflows, model deployment, or AI-related infrastructure.
