Overview
Life Sciences is a function within PepsiCo that bridges nutrition and physiology with PepsiCo's business goals. It is central to the company's commitment to drive positive action for planet and people. We are seeking a Senior Scientist to represent the Life Sciences function for the CSD/Sparkling portfolio within our beverages business. This position will work closely with other beverage R&D functions and business teams to drive a competitive advantage in strategic priority areas for PepsiCo. This position will report into the Life Sciences Beverage Innovation Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead life science initiatives for CSD (Carbonated Soft Drinks) and Sparkling categories, with responsibility for iconic brands like Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Bubly, SodaStream and Poppi.
- Ensure scientific integrity of functional benefits, claims and associated communications are maintained throughout product lifecycle from concept to post-commercialization.
- Collaborate closely with Regulatory Affairs, Scientific Affairs and other related functions to ensure communicated benefits or ingredients meet local regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in R&D, Marketing and Legal to influence product design and drive scientific and nutritional credibility of product propositions
- Monitor and evaluate emerging functional and nutritional trends, as well as the competitive landscape in the CSD/Sparkling space.
- Influence brand vision and feasibility of deliverables with creativity, agility and pragmatism.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $88,200 - $147,650.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
