Job Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree (US or Foreign Equivalent) in Food Science and Technology, Food Microbiology, Bioscience with Food Safety, or related and ten (10) years of experience in Food Safety. Must have ten (10) years’ experience with: Hazard assessment – biological, chemical, allergen, and physical hazard; Food Safety Program – environmental monitoring, sanitation, and pathogen sensitive ingredient program etc. ; HACCP certification/PCQI; Beverage ingredient and manufacturing process; Applied knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems (i.e. FSMA-PCQI, HACCP, GFSI- FSSC 22000); Experience in food safety & quality for a global consumer goods company; Demonstrate practical application of risk assessment and management through CAPA tools approach; and Demonstrate Project Management capabilities with both business and technical focus. Must have five (5) years’ experience with: Knowledge of Digital solution; Supplier food safety audit; and Regulatory inspection/compliance.
*Travel Required: 30% (Domestic & International)
Salary: $123,802 - $135,000/ year

Overview
Job Title: R&D FSQA Associate Principal Scientist
Employer: PepsiCo, Inc.

Responsibilities
Duties: Food safety risk assessment: Lead end-to-end beverage ingredient microbiology and food safety biological, chemical, and physical hazards assessment. Provide mitigation strategy for innovation, technical brand stewardship, and experimental projects and provide Food safety hazard assessment to support FDA audit for PGCS facilities. Develop Food Safety strategies and policies in support of Beverage Category. Interface with cross-functional teams comprised of individuals from a variety of disciplines, including product development, regulatory affairs, supply quality assurance, operations, and supply chain. Manage ingredient-related food safety program such as pathogen sensitive ingredient program, FS upon request program, and surveillance program. New capability build: Develop and introduce new biological, Chemical hazards risk assessment toolkits, guidance documents, and trainings. Provide governance for contractors supporting specifications and reporting of metrics to drive change. Digitalization: Lead beverage food safety supplier collaboration digitization. Enhance current food safety hazard assessment tool.
