Founded in 2006, TAKE ENGLSIH is already a prestigious English language academy in Seville with 2 centres and has taught thousands of students. We are an authorised University of Cambridge preparation centre and a registered Trinity College examination centre, located in the east of the city of Seville. Our both centres are really well connected by public transport to the centre of Seville.
The position is in our Centre 2: TAKE ENGLISH, La Negrilla, Starting in the End of January
In a lively neighbourhood, 15 minutes walk from Amate metro station, and 8 minutes from Padre Pio train station, with direct connection to the main train station in Seville "Santa Justa". In addition, bus lines 24 and 52, and the possibility to store your own bike in the school (you can come directly by bike or you are also allowed to ride your bike on the metro or train at times of moderate public affluence).
We are currently offering a position as an English teacher with good working conditions, where you will teach students aged between 11 and 20, as well as preparing half of them for Cambridge exams, always using a practical approach focussed on developing their skills and helping them gain confidence listening to and speaking English through the use of games, music and creative activities.
Our senior teachers and administrative staff are on-hand to provide continued support throughout the course and we are constantly kept up to date with the latest trends in education and the English-teaching industry!
Take English belongs to the following professional organisations:
- ACEIA (Asociación de centros de enseñanza de idiomas de Andalucía)
- FECEI (Federación española de centros de enseñanza de idiomas)
- ACADE (Asociación de centros autónomos de enseñanza privada)
- Trinity College Registered Examination Centre
- Cambridge English Collaborating Centre
JOB DESCRIPTION
The job consists of teaching classes to groups of students, with a maximum of 10 students. Classes should always be dynamic and fun, with games or activities that are attractive to students. All our classrooms have a whiteboard, projector and laptop, and all students have a textbook and activity book. All teachers are provided with all the teaching materials, which greatly facilitates lesson preparation.
The teacher is alone in the classroom and will have a great deal of autonomy in their lessons, although they will work under the guidance of the coordinating teacher, who will help them to develop the content established by the centre. The teacher will be guided by teaching guidelines, such as: the selection of specific content or methodological instructions, for example: on the use of English/Spanish in class, guidelines for correcting homework, approach to working with games, working with songs, lessons to be taught or not, instructions on pronunciation, etc.
Teachers will not have to prepare their students' exams or hold tutorials throughout the course, but there will only be two tutorials with parents during the year, which will take place on assessment days.
Teachers can prepare their classes at home and are not required to come to the academy in the morning to do so. In addition, they have a good number of non-teaching hours in their contract.
The most important principle at Take English is our concern for the quality of our teaching. To this end, we consider training and observation practices to be essential: we hold several training sessions throughout the course (always on weekdays), as well as observation sessions between colleagues + feedback, which help us greatly to learn and progress from our mistakes and strengths.
