JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking to hire a senior legal specialist, with 4-6 years of experience, to join the Conflict & Validation Unit within the Cuatrecasas In-House Compliance team at our Madrid office.

The successful candidate will be part of the team responsible for risk assessment when onboarding new clients, matters, and payers, performing the tasks and functions specific to the specialty area. We are looking for a candidate with a strategic vision and sound legal judgment who wants to play a key role in the firm's risk management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities are:

• Analysis of potential ethical conflicts of interest when taking on new matters and clients, applying the Spanish Code of Legal Practice and current ethical regulations to guarantee independence and due loyalty in each engagement.
• Analysis of potential risks arising from relationships between clients and their corporate groups (including parent companies, subsidiaries, financing and financed entities, and related parties), and anticipating situations that could compromise the firm's position.
• Analysis of potential risks from new payers to the firm, contributing to the prevention of regulatory and reputational risks.
• Fluid and constructive communication with the firm's partners, controllers, and assistants, acting as a trusted point of contact in conflicts of interest.
• Reporting to the Head of the Conflict & Validation Unit and the firm's Compliance Department, contributing to the continuous improvement of the unit's processes and criteria.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Laws or Business Administration and Management.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Legal Counsel, Compliance, or in the conflict resolution unit of a law firm.
• Knowledge of professional ethics, especially regarding the Spanish Code of Legal Practice and its practical application to the identification and resolution of conflicts of interest.
• Solid understanding of corporate dynamics, group structures, M&A transactions, and restructuring and financing, enabling the quick identification of risks arising from intercompany relationships.
• Professionalism, commitment, proactivity, and autonomy.
• Advanced level of English.
